Today during bible study we learned about Esther. Like usual I didn’t share what was on my mind. I always get anxiety when I talk about people. It’s been getting better because I started raising my hand to talk in Spanish, but it’s still difficult. So here was the main thing that stood out to me.
God sees more in us than we see in ourselves.
Many times people tend to put limits on God and on themselves. We aim for a goal that is lower than God’s purpose for us. We think we can be one thing but in reality we can be soo much more. Esther was forced to be a queen and had to make a difficult decision with the help of her cousin Mordecai. Like Esther I’m sure all of us are afraid to make hard decisions. We avoid difficult decisions and ride on the easy path of life. But God gives us difficult decisions for a reason. He gives us these decisions in order for us to live up to our purpose. And a lot of us are missing the opportunity to complete what we were made to do in this live.
Not all of us has a Mordecai that will push us to make the right decision and help us realize our purpose. But we have God to help us and guide us in our decisions because He knows. He knows all of our worries in our head. He knows we are afraid. He know why we are afraid. We are not forgotten, we just have to trust. Whatever you give up to the Lord, He will give you something back.
Esther’s main concern was whether or not the King would listen to her or just kill her. Esther 5:2 says, ” When the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, she obtained favor in his sight; and the king extended to Esther the golden scepter which was in his hand. So Esther came near and touched the top of the scepter.”(NASB)
If you look at the footnotes for this verse it tells us to go to Proverbs 21:1. This verse says, “The king’s heart is like channels of water in the hand of the Lord; He turns it wherever He wishes.”(NASB) God will clear a path for us. We don’t have to worry about whether everything works out because God will clear a path for us. It might not be the path we think we should go on, but God will clear a path for us through where He wants us to go. We just have to make sure we pray about these things, ask God whatever is on your heart, and trust Him.
One last thing, Esther could’ve influenced many people thought her decision in the way that young girls would look at her and admire how strong she is and it would push them to be strong like her. Our actions influence other people whether we know it or not. We are able to see God working through Esther, as people can see God working through us. We have to be mindful and try our hardest to walk in Gods light. We won’t be perfect and God doesn’t expect us to be. We might be afraid of what will happen if we do but like Esther and Mordecai were blessed with Haman’s estate. We will be blessed if we walk in God’s path for us.
